Michael Shedd

Michael Shedd is a veteran of the Army and Army Reserves. Following his service, he used the Army College Fund and G.I. Bill to attend both the University of Texas at Austin and Arlington where he earned his BA in Chemistry and Russian in 1995. In addition, he is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute School of Russian. In October of 1995, Michael started his career with the Fort Worth Police Department. While there, he earned his Master degree in Criminal Justice in 2011 from Tarleton State University and holds a Master Peace Officer’s license with TCOLE. Michael is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute and the FBI National Academy. He is the former lieutenant of the Information Management Section of the Fort Worth Police Department and former commander of the S.W.A.T. section where he oversaw a 26 person full time team. After over 25 years of service, Michael retired as the Deputy Chief over Operational Command in the Finance and Personnel Bureau which included Communications, Training and Professional Standards. Michael has served as an adjunct instructor at Tarleton State University since 2011 and teaches graduate level electives in the College of Criminal Justice. Michael stays active in the community, and serves as President of the Board of Directors for the Parenting Center, is the president elect of the East Fort Worth Business Association, and serves on the steering committee for the PAC Focus on Students.
